Random Phone Number Generator

The Random Phone Number Generator makes between one and ten fake phone numbers in the mobile format of the country you choose. The dropdown lists 238 countries and territories, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, plus a Random setting that gives each number a different country. Choose the United States and a second dropdown appears with all 50 states, so you can get numbers that start with a real area code for, say, Texas or Ohio. Every result is a card showing the number and its country (or state and country) with a one-click copy button.

How the numbers are built

Each country in the dataset has a stored pattern: the country code followed by the right number of digits, grouped the way that country writes them. Bangladesh is +880 followed by ten digits, Ethiopia is +251 then 2-3-4, Myanmar is +95 then 2-3-4, Afghanistan is +93 then 2-7, the UK is +44 then 4-3-3, India is +91 then ten digits. When you press the button the X positions are filled with random digits, so the shape is right but the specific number is invented.

The US is handled differently. With a state selected, the tool picks one of that state's real area codes (Texas has 27 in the list, California 32, Wyoming just 307) and prints the number as +1 (area code) XXX-XXXX. With the state left on Random you get the plain +1 pattern with random digits throughout.

The count field accepts 1 to 10. Type anything outside that and you get an error instead of results.

Why these numbers are safe to use

Because the digits after the country code are random, most generated numbers fall on prefixes that no carrier has assigned, and the ones that happen to land on a real prefix still have random subscriber digits. Nothing is looked up against a directory and the tool cannot receive calls or texts. That makes the output good for test databases, mockups and demo accounts, and useless for anything that sends an SMS code. If a site needs OTP verification, a generated number will not get you through it.
