Random India Phone Number Generator

Get 1 to 10 made-up Indian phone numbers in +91 format, each on a card with a copy button. For test data and mockups, not for calling.

Enter how many you want (1 to 10), press the button, and the Random India Phone Number Generator gives you that many made-up Indian numbers in the form +91-XXXXXXXXXX: the country code, a hyphen, then ten digits. Each number sits on its own card labeled "India" with a copy icon, so filling a form, a spreadsheet column or a screenshot mockup takes a few seconds. The numbers are random digits, not a directory lookup, which is exactly what you want for test data and exactly why you shouldn't dial them.

How the numbers are built

The tool starts from the template +91-########## and replaces every # with a random digit from 0 to 9. That's the whole algorithm. It doesn't consult a list of real numbers, it doesn't check which operator owns a range, and it doesn't force the first digit to be one of the values real Indian mobiles start with. That last point matters if your validation is strict, so here is how genuine Indian numbers are put together.

How real Indian phone numbers work

India's country code is +91, and every subscriber number, mobile or landline, is ten digits long once the country code is removed. Domestically, mobiles are dialed as the bare ten digits and landlines outside your own city get a 0 in front (the trunk prefix), which is why you'll see numbers written as 011-2345-6789 in India but +91 11 2345 6789 abroad.

Two consequences for the numbers this page produces. Because the first digit is random, about four in ten results start with 0 to 5 and cannot be real Indian mobiles; a form that validates the leading digit will reject them, which is useful when you're testing the rejection path and annoying when you're not. And the six in ten that start with 6 to 9 land in a space of four billion possible numbers of which well over a billion are in service, so a generated number has a real chance of belonging to someone. Treat every result as a placeholder: never call, text or WhatsApp it, and never use one to sign up for anything.

If you need a number that looks Indian and is guaranteed unassigned for a story or a demo video, there is no official fictional range in India the way the UK and Australia have, so the usual approach is to use an obviously repetitive number such as +91 98765 43210 or to blur it in the final cut.

Ways people use it

  • Form and API testing. Paste ten numbers into a sign-up form or a CSV import to check that the +91 prefix, the hyphen and the ten-digit length are handled.
  • Design mockups. Contact cards, CRM screenshots and app store images need phone numbers that look Indian without exposing a real customer.
  • Seeding databases. Ten at a time isn't bulk, but it's enough for a demo tenant with a handful of sample contacts.
  • Fiction and scripts. A character's number on a business card or a chat screenshot.

Frequently asked questions

Are these real Indian phone numbers?

No. Each number is +91 followed by ten random digits. Nothing is looked up or verified, so some results will not be valid Indian numbers and others may coincidentally match a number that belongs to someone. Use them as placeholders only.

Can I call or send SMS or WhatsApp messages to these numbers?

You should not. A generated number might be unassigned, or it might belong to a real person who did not ask to hear from you. Contacting random numbers can also break your carrier's or WhatsApp's terms. The tool exists for test data and mockups.

What does a valid Indian mobile number look like?

Ten digits starting with 6, 7, 8 or 9, written internationally as +91 followed by those ten digits, for example +91 98765 43210. Landlines are also ten digits after +91 but begin with an STD area code such as 11 for Delhi or 22 for Mumbai.

How many numbers can I generate at once?

Between 1 and 10 per press. Press the button again for another batch; each number has its own copy button.

Can I get a number from a specific Indian city or operator?

No. The tool does not model area codes or operator ranges, so there is no city or carrier filter. The output is always +91 plus ten random digits.
