How clone names work in Star Wars
Every clone is born with a designation, not a name. Standard troopers get a CT number (Rex is CT-7567, Fives is CT-27-5555, Echo is CT-1409) and clone commanders get CC numbers (Cody is CC-2224, Bly is CC-5052). The nickname comes later, usually on Kamino during training or in a trooper's first deployment, and it almost always points at something concrete:
