Product Description Generator
Type the product name, features and audience, and get an AI-written title and description you can copy, download or share. The Product Description Generator writes a listing from your notes. Give it the product name, what it's made of, what it does and who it's for, and it returns a suggested title plus a description paragraph drafted by a language model through our API. It's built for the person adding the fortieth SKU to a Shopify store, an Etsy seller who would rather make things than write about them, or anyone who needs a first draft to edit rather than a blank field.
What to put in the box
The input takes up to 300 characters; a counter underneath shows the remaining room and any HTML tags are stripped before the text is sent. The model only knows what you tell it, and the difference between a bland description and a specific one is almost entirely in the input. A useful checklist:
- Name and category. "Aurora 20 oz insulated water bottle" beats "water bottle".
- Two or three concrete features. Double-wall stainless steel, keeps drinks cold 24 hours, fits a car cup holder.
- Who buys it and why. Commuters, gym-goers, people who keep losing bottle lids.
- Any constraints. "Under 80 words", "no puns", "mention the two-year warranty", "UK spelling".
There are no tone, length or platform settings on this tool; put those requests in the text and the model will usually honour them.
What comes back
The output card shows the generated title as a heading and the description beneath it. Under the card are a copy button (plain text, "Title: … Product Description: …"), a download button that saves the same text as a .txt file named after the title, and share buttons for WhatsApp, X and Facebook. The page does not keep a history, and each new request replaces the previous result, so save anything you like before regenerating. If the API is busy or returns nothing, you'll see an error line instead of a description; trying again a moment later normally works.
Editing the draft before it goes live
Treat the output as a competent first draft. Before publishing, check that every claim is true for your product, since the model will happily write "leak-proof" if you hinted at it. Swap generic adjectives for measurements (a weight, a capacity, a dimension). Put the single most important benefit in the first sentence, because marketplaces truncate descriptions in search results. And if you sell on Amazon, Etsy or eBay, check their rules on keyword stuffing and prohibited claims, which the generator does not know about.
Example inputs
| Product type | Input that works |
|---|---|
| Physical goods | Hand-poured soy candle, 8 oz, cedar and orange, 40-hour burn, reusable glass jar, gift for new homeowners. Warm tone, under 90 words. |
| Digital product | Notion budget template for freelancers, tracks invoices and tax set-asides, one-time purchase, includes video walkthrough. |
| Service or store | Mobile dog grooming in Austin, 30-minute slots, van comes to your driveway, first visit 15% off. Friendly, mention no-cage policy. |
The same description often needs companion copy. The Free AI Slogan Generator produces the tagline for a banner, the AI Review Generator and AI Testimonial Generator make placeholder quotes for mock-ups (never publish them as real customer reviews), and the Random Paragraph Generator gives dummy text for layout work. Everything else is under all writing & AI tools.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the product description generator free?
Yes. No account, no word credits and no limit on requests. Type a description of the product, press the button and the result appears on the page.
- Can it write a store or business description instead of a product?
It can. Describe the shop or business the same way, saying what it sells, where it is and who it serves, and the model will write a short description for an About section or marketplace profile.
- Can I choose a tone or length?
There are no settings, but the model responds to instructions in the text. Add phrases such as "playful tone", "formal", "under 60 words" or "three short paragraphs" to the end of your input.
- Does it write in languages other than English?
Usually. Write the input in the language you want, or add "in French" at the end, and the description will normally come back in that language.
- Can I use the text commercially?
Yes. The generated text is yours to edit and publish. Just check every factual claim against the real product before it goes on a listing.
