Random Apex Legend Generator

Press the button to get one of the 27 playable Apex Legends at random. It never repeats the legend you just got.

Press the button and the Random Apex Legend Generator picks one legend from the full playable roster of 27, from the original eight (Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Pathfinder, Wraith, Bangalore, Caustic, Mirage) through Sparrow. It won't give you the same legend twice in a row. That's the whole tool: a legend roulette for players who default to the same main every match and want the game to choose for them.

How it works

There are no filters and no class selection. Each click shuffles the roster and returns the top name; if that matches your previous result it reshuffles until it doesn't. Only the name is shown, without abilities, class or artwork, so you'll want the game's legend select screen open alongside it. The generator runs entirely in your browser and needs no account.

Who is in the pool

The list covers every legend released through Season 25 (May 2025), grouped here by the in-game class system introduced in Season 16:

  • Assault: Bangalore, Fuse, Ash, Mad Maggie, Ballistic
  • Skirmisher: Pathfinder, Wraith, Octane, Horizon, Valkyrie, Revenant, Alter
  • Recon: Bloodhound, Crypto, Seer, Vantage, Sparrow
  • Support: Gibraltar, Lifeline, Loba, Mirage, Newcastle, Conduit
  • Controller: Caustic, Wattson, Rampart, Catalyst

Legends added after Season 25 are not in the pool yet. Class assignments follow the roster as of that season; Respawn has moved legends between classes before (Mirage went from Skirmisher to Support in Season 20), so check in game if a class matters for your challenge.

Ways to use a legend picker

  • Break a one-trick habit. If your stats say 800 games on Wraith, let the generator pick for a session and learn what the rest of the roster feels like.
  • Squad roulette. Each of three players clicks once. Duplicate legends aren't allowed in a squad, so if two of you get the same result, the second player clicks again.
  • Ranked warm-up. Play two pubs on whatever comes up before switching to your main. Controller and Support picks in particular teach map positioning you don't learn on Octane.
  • Challenge runs and streams. "Random legend, random drop" is a common stream format. Pair this with the Random Video Game Character Generator if the stream spans more than one game.
  • Working through weekly challenges. Battle pass tasks that say "deal damage as a Recon legend" are easier to tolerate when the choice within the class is out of your hands.

Why the roster matters for a random pick

Apex isn't a hero shooter where every character plays the same guns differently; the weapons are shared, and legends change how you move, see and heal. A random pick therefore changes the job you do for your squad more than it changes your aim. Skirmishers (seven of the 27) get you out of fights and rotate fast. Recon legends scan and track. Support legends revive faster, carry extra heals and can craft banners. Controllers lock down buildings with gas, fences, walls or portals. Assault legends carry extra ammo and open supply bins' hidden compartments. Because the pool is uneven by class, roughly one in four random picks will be a Skirmisher and only about one in seven will be a Controller, which is worth knowing if you're using this to balance a squad.

If you play other games with big rosters, the Random League Champ Generator does the same job for League of Legends, and the Random DC Character Generator and Dragon Ball Character Generator cover comic and anime casts. All of them are under all people & character generators.

Frequently asked questions

How many legends can the generator pick from?

27: every playable legend released through Season 25, from Bloodhound to Sparrow. Legends released after that are not included yet.

Can I generate a full squad of three at once?

No. Each click returns one legend. Click three times for a squad; the tool only prevents an immediate repeat, so if the third pick matches the first, click again.

Can I filter by class, like only Support legends?

Not in this tool. It draws from the whole roster. If you need a class-restricted pick, generate until a legend from that class appears; the class list on this page shows who belongs where.

Does it show the legend's abilities?

No, only the name. The list on this page groups legends by class, and the in-game legend screen has the full ability details.
