Random FNAF Character Generator

Press Generate FNaF Character and you get one name from a list of 54 Five Nights at Freddy's characters. That's all the card shows, a name, no picture or bio, which makes it a fast randomizer for drawing challenges, "who would you survive" debates and picking who to main in a fan game. The list spans the whole series, from the original four animatronics through Security Breach and the Fazbear Frights books.

Some fan favorites are not in the list: Balloon Boy, Shadow Freddy, the Daycare Attendant (Sun and Moon), DJ Music Man and the Mimic. If one of those comes up as a "must-have" for your challenge, add it yourself.

How the pick works

There are no filters. Each click shuffles all 54 names and shows the first one, so every character has the same chance and repeats are possible. Click again for another. If you're running a group activity, have each person click once and take what they get.

• Art challenges. Draw whichever animatronic comes up, in whatever style the next roll of a dice picks. Ennard and Molten Freddy are the ones artists dread.
• Choosing who's active in a custom night. Roll a few names and switch only those animatronics on in Ultimate Custom Night or a fan game.
• Tier-list and debate starters. Generate two characters and argue which one wins a fight, or which one is scarier.
• Cosplay and OC prompts. A random result like Roxanne Wolf or Ballora is a decent starting point when you don't already have a favorite.
• Lore quizzes. Roll a name and ask the group which game it first appeared in; the table above is the answer key.

A note on the names

Names follow the spellings used in the games: Springtrap (one word), Glamrock Freddy and Glamrock Chica, and Bon Bon for Funtime Freddy's hand puppet. "Freddy" on its own means Freddy Fazbear, the original brown bear. "Nightmare" refers to the black, transparent animatronic from FNAF 4's final nights, not the Nightmare versions of the other characters. "C.C. Afton" is the Crying Child, William Afton's youngest son from the FNAF 4 minigames, whose first name has never been confirmed in the games.
