The Would You Rather Generator serves one question per click from a list of 1,577, either from the whole list or from one of 15 categories such as Funny, Food, Superpower or Ethics. The question appears on a card with a copy button so you can paste it into a group chat, a slide or a social post. Press the button again for the next one.
It's a this-or-that question generator for the moments when the group has gone quiet: road trips, first dates, icebreakers, classroom warm-ups and late-night calls.
How it works
There is one control, the category dropdown. Leave it on Random to draw from every question, or choose a category to stay on one theme. The tool filters the list to that category, shuffles it and returns the first question. Because each click is a fresh shuffle, you can occasionally get a repeat, especially inside a single category of about 100 questions.
The 15 categories
Each category holds 100 to 118 questions. Funny is the largest at 118, followed by Time (113).

The other categories are Relationship, Sports, Time, Technology, Entertainment, Challenges, Personal Preferences, Travel and Nature. The Relationship set is written for couples and friends rather than as a dirty edition; nothing in the list is explicit, so the Random setting is safe for a classroom or an office.
How to play
Read the question out loud. Everyone has to choose one option, and "neither" and "both" are not allowed. The fun is in the follow-up, so ask why. With a bigger group, count hands for each side and let the minority defend their pick. For a points version, players guess which option the person answering will choose and score a point for each correct guess.
Ways people use it
- Icebreakers. One question at the start of a meeting or class gets everyone talking without putting anyone on the spot.
- Car and plane trips. Set the category to Travel or Fantasy and go around the car.
- Dates and getting to know someone. The Relationship, Ethics and Personal Preferences categories say more about a person than small talk does.
- Social media and streams. Copy a question into a poll or a story sticker and let followers vote.
