The Manga Name Generator picks one to ten real manga series at random from a list of 480 titles, from Death Note, Berserk and One Piece to smaller shojo and seinen series like Kare Kano, Yotsuba&! and 20th Century Boys. It is a "what should I read next" tool, not a title inventor: every result is an actual published manga you can look up and buy.
How it works
Enter a number from 1 to 10 and press Generate Manga Name. The full list is shuffled each time and the first few titles are shown as cards, so a batch never repeats itself and the next click gives a different set. There are no genre or demographic filters; the whole catalog is one pool.
What is in the list
The 480 titles skew toward series that were licensed in English during the 2000s and 2010s, which is roughly the era when most Western readers built their shelves. You will see:
- Shonen staples: Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball, One Piece, Hunter × Hunter, Fairy Tail, D.Gray-man, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist, Hikaru no Go.
- Seinen and mature series: Berserk, Monster, 20th Century Boys, Gantz, Akira, Hellsing, Claymore.
- Shojo and romance: Fruits Basket, NANA, Ouran High School Host Club, Vampire Knight, Hana-Kimi, Kare Kano, Absolute Boyfriend, Love Hina.
- CLAMP and classic titles: Cardcaptor Sakura, Chobits, xxxHOLiC, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Ranma ½, Inuyasha, Rurouni Kenshin, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Neon Genesis Evangelion.
- Comedy and slice of life: Azumanga Daioh, Yotsuba&!, GTO.
Titles are shown as the English-language edition names, so you get "Fullmetal Alchemist" rather than "Hagane no Renkinjutsushi." Nothing more recent than the mid-2010s is guaranteed to be there, so newer hits like Chainsaw Man or Jujutsu Kaisen may not appear.
Ways to use it
- Break a reading slump. Generate one title and commit to reading the first volume, whatever it is. The list is broad enough that you will land on something outside your usual demographic.
- Manga club picks. Generate five, put them to a vote, and read the winner for next month.

People sometimes reach this page hoping to name their own manga. This tool won't do that; it only draws from existing series. - Can I filter by genre, like shonen or shojo?
No. There is a single list with no genre tags, so each click draws from the whole catalog. Generating ten at a time is the quickest way to find something in the genre you want.
- Does it include anime-only titles?
No. Everything in the list started as manga, although many of them also have anime adaptations.
- Why don't I see recent series?
The list was compiled from series licensed in English up to roughly the mid-2010s, so newer titles are largely absent.
