Random Malaysia Address Generator
Get 1 to 10 dummy Malaysian addresses in local No./Jalan/postcode/city/state format across nine cities, each with a copy button.Enter a number from 1 to 10, press Generate Address, and you get that many random Malaysia addresses on copyable cards. Each one is a single line in the local style, for example "No. 299, Jalan 69, 81750 George Town, Penang, Malaysia", drawn from a list of 500 addresses spread across nine cities: Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Johor Bahru, Alor Setar, George Town, Shah Alam, Melaka City and Kuala Lumpur. The random Malaysia address generator is meant for developers filling test databases, designers mocking up forms for the Malaysian market, and anyone who needs a dummy Malaysia address in a field that will not accept a blank.
What each address contains, and what it does not
The addresses are synthetic. The house number ("No. 299") and the street ("Jalan 69") are randomly numbered in the style of Malaysian housing estates, where streets are commonly numbered rather than named. The city and state are real pairs, so Kuching is always in Sarawak and Shah Alam always in Selangor. The five-digit postcode, however, is a random number and does not correspond to the city in front of it; 81750 is a Johor postcode, not a Penang one. If you need a postcode that a validator will match to the state, replace it using the ranges below. The tool also leaves out the taman or seksyen line (the estate or section name) that most real Malaysian addresses carry.
The tool shuffles the 500 entries and takes the first N, so a batch of 10 never repeats. There is no city or state filter; all nine cities are roughly equally represented, with Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Johor Bahru each having about 60 entries and Kuala Lumpur the fewest at 38.
How a real Malaysian address is written
Pos Malaysia's standard format runs house number and street, then estate or section, then postcode and town on one line, then state, with "Malaysia" only added for international mail:
- No. 12, Jalan SS 2/24
- Taman Bahagia
- 47300 Petaling Jaya
- Selangor
Postcodes are five digits and the first two identify the state or federal territory. The ranges that matter for the cities in this list:
| City in the list | State | Real postcode range |
|---|---|---|
| Kuala Lumpur | Federal Territory | 50000 to 60000 |
| Shah Alam | Selangor | 40000 to 40990 |
| George Town | Penang | 10000 to 11900 |
| Ipoh | Perak | 30000 to 31350 |
| Johor Bahru | Johor | 79000 to 81800 |
| Melaka City | Melaka | 75000 to 75990 |
| Alor Setar | Kedah | 05000 to 05990 |
| Kota Kinabalu | Sabah | 88000 to 89999 |
| Kuching | Sarawak | 93000 to 93990 |
Street words you will see on real addresses: Jalan (road), Lorong (lane), Persiaran (drive or boulevard), Lebuh (street, common in George Town) and Taman (housing estate). "Bandar" in a town name means a planned township.
Typical uses
- Seeding a test database. Ten at a time, each with a distinct city and state, is enough variety to check that a report groups addresses by state correctly.
- Form and checkout mockups. The "No. 12, Jalan 34" pattern instantly reads as Malaysian to a local reviewer, which a US-style "123 Main St" never will.
- Placeholder profiles. Pair an address here with a random name and email to build a dummy customer for a demo without using anyone's real details.
- Sample data for teaching. Malaysian classrooms use dummy addresses for spreadsheet and database exercises; the consistent single-line format imports cleanly as one column.
Other countries with the same kind of generator include Hong Kong, Australia, the Netherlands and Canada; the full set is under all address & postal code generators.
Frequently asked questions
- Are these real addresses in Malaysia?
No. The city and state pairs are real, but the house number, street number and postcode are randomly generated, so a specific address will not correspond to an actual building. Use them as dummy data only, never for deliveries or identity checks.
- Why does the postcode not match the city?
The tool generates a random five-digit number for the postcode rather than looking up the city's real range. If your validator checks postcode against state, swap in a number from the range table on this page, for example 50xxx for Kuala Lumpur or 10xxx for George Town.
- Can I get an address in a specific city, such as Kuala Lumpur or Penang?
There is no city filter, but all nine cities appear regularly. Generating 10 at once almost always gives you at least one Kuala Lumpur and one George Town address to copy.
- How many addresses can I generate at once?
From 1 to 10 per click, with no duplicates in a single batch. The full list has 500 entries.
